We did some amazing
updates and projects to
get Devon open. I want to
thank all of the
volunteers who showed up
and helped get everything
done in order to open.
Also members who weren’t
able to come down but
wanted to help, thank you
for the monetary
donations. We still have some projects
that we want to complete
over the summer, so please
consider
making a donation.

Opening Weekend Details
|
Devon opens Saturday May
25th at 10:30am and will be
open until 9pm, Sunday May
26th and Monday May 27th the
hours are 11am to 9pm.
Saturday and Sunday guests
are welcome to join for $10
guest fee.
Monday will be a members
only day, no
guests. Guest passes can be
purchased from the
website.
If you haven’t renewed
your 2024 membership, there
is still time
visit the website and
renew. Remember your member
number is your 7 digit phone
number (no area code)

Digital Membership
Cards
We have updated the digital
membership cards this year,
so
everyonewill need to download a new
card. Cards are available
for all adults and teens on
your membership, children 12
and under do not have a card
because they are not allowed
to use the facility without
supervision.

The Club is
Cashless
The Devon Board has made the
decision to go cashless
again this year so the snack
bar will only accept credit
card and Apple pay.

Swim Team
|
|
We are super excited for the
2024 Swim Team Season. This
year the Devon Seahorses
will be hosting conference
so lots of great ways for
people to get involved !

Swim Lessons

Swim lesson
sign up is live on the
Devon websiteand all the details are
available on the page. There
are June and July sessions
as well as afternoon and
evening choices. Each class
is limited to 18 swimmers,
so get signed up !

Tennis
|
We are still on the hunt for
someone to run our kids
lessons and weekend clinics.
So until we have that person
secured we won’t put up sign
ups for either. If you have
someone you would like to
recommend please email our
tennis chair on the board

The registration for the
memorial day tournament
is liveon the Devon Website.
This is open to both
members and non
members.

As a reminder Devon host
USTA matches in the
evenings. When those
matches are happening the
courts are off limits
during that time period.
Please help keep kids from
wondering down.

Social
|
We have a lot of great
events planned for this
season and will hopefully
have a full schedule up on
the website soon. But wanted
you to put in your calendars
the first few events of the
season.
First Sundae Sunday of
the year will be Sunday June
2nd at 4pm. We will accept
ice cream and topping
donations (more details to
come) and then line you all
up to have some fantastic
ice cream.
First pitch-in of the
year will be Sunday June 9th
and will be a brunch at
12pm. $10 per family and
will ask you to bring
something fabulous to share.

And the ever popular
almost famous tween party
(kids in 6-8th grade) will
be Wednesday June 19th
7-10p. Lots of more
information on that but
wanted you to be aware !

Parties at Devon
|
We love when people want to
host parties and get
togethers at Devon. However,
to be fair to all members
there is a Party Policy that
needs to be followed. As a
reminder, parties are
typically not allowed Friday
after 4p, Saturday or Sunday
because that is when the
majority of our members go
to spend time with their
families.
If having more than 10
guests that are not Devon
members there is a $50 party
fee that needs to be paid
prior to event. This party
fee will get you 2 tables
reserved in the pavilion.
Their is also a $5 guest fee
that needs to be paid for
everyone attending –
regardless if they are
swimming or not.

Maintenance
|
As I mentioned in the last
newsletter, what we pulled
out of really old plumbing
was alarming – I just can’t
imagine that stuff is going
down toilets in people’s
homes so please stress to
your kids and yourself to
throw things in the cans and
we can hope to have a season
of great plumbing !

Rules Refresher
|
As we all are excited to be
back a Devon just a couple
rules of the pool to abide
by:
-
You must check in at the
front to enter – and pay
for your guests. Please be
patient the first few
weeks as we have new
guards and new members and
everyone will get taken
care of.
-
No food, candy, or glass
off of the deck. Please no
eating out by the pool – I
know it seems harmless to
grab a few Cheez-its and
snack, but inevitably
foods on the ground and
ants they will come. IF
you have a bottle and need
a cup we always have them
at the front desk.
-
Adults you are allowed to
have a drink in the pool –
but you must stay on the
edge with it.
-
Be courteous to members –
don’t hog tables. If you
have one in the pavilion
you don’t need one on
deck. (This isn’t a rule,
just something that makes
me crazy)
-
One bounce on both diving
boards
-
Wait on the ground til the
person on the board has
gone off, and wait until
they are at the ladder
before you go.
-
Jump straight off the
boards –
-
Nothing extra can be on
when going off the boards
– no goggles, masks,
swimmies or puddle
jumpers. If a parent wants
to catch a child going off
the low dive that is fine.
-
The only diving that takes
place is in the deep end
and when people are going
off the boards you need to
be swimming and diving
behind the red line.
-
No running on the concrete
by the pool
-
The baby pool is for 6 and
under – there are to be no
chairs inside the baby
pool
-
When lap swimmers are
swimming in the lap lane,
please stay out of it.
-
Have fun ! Devon is a
great place and fun and
being safe are important

Final Thoughts
|
I am thrilled for the 2024
season to kick off. We have
a lot of new members that
are so excited for their
first summer at Devon, plus
so many returning members
who know the fun they will
have. As I said before and I
will stress it again – we
expect some glitches and
hiccups – be patient. You
are always welcome to reach
